Model Airplanes – What is the Rarest Plastic Model Airplane Around?

My Dad is super in to Model airplanes. He has collected them since he was a kid. He has just about every Model airplane out there so i’m not sure what would be the best one to get him for Christmas. He likes 1/48 scale in mint condition. What’s the rarest one? the one he’s most likely not to have?

  2. I’d have to agree with Macstu23: there are THOUSANDS of kits out there that are out of stock and I’d crave !! It would be EXPENSIVE to find and buy one though: I spent $200 to get an old Monogram Helldiver a few years back.

One I’d LOVE to find again was the 1/48 B-52 by Monogram… issued in the 1970’s it was HUGE !! My old model didn’t survive a move.

Perhaps you should look at one of the "obscure" former Eastern Bloc manufacturers out there… check with Fine Scale Modeler Magazine: http://www.finescale.com/fsm/

    GOOD LUCK !!
