Building A Flying Model Airplane?

I want to build a small model airplane like an R/C type. However, I want it to fly not just be a model. How would I do this without a kit or a hobby shop for pre-made parts. Also what math is involved to figur out how much lift I need and stuff like that. Thanks.

  2. The answer to your question is in books. Its not just something you can pick up and start doing. People are experts at this stuff and you need a number of specialty tools. Visit a hobby shop and ask the workers there for some guidance or join an R/C plane club in your area or buy/borrow some books on the subject. All I can say is that there’s a LOT to it.

From what I know, it would be cheaper to start with a kit than building one from scratch.

Good luck with the new hobby!
